Lea Faka-Tonga · Drills

Benefactive Sorter

This is a practice drill from the free 52-lesson Tongan course. The course reaches for it in lesson 26, purpose, reason, and benefit, where it runs inside the lesson as well as on this page.

maʻa (ʻe-class) vs moʻo (ho-class), told apart by what the recipient gets.

Every item asks the same thing: Which beneficiary marker fits? Each card carries one word, and you file it into the class it belongs to. The reason shows on the card either way, so a wrong guess teaches as much as a right one.
