Lesson 51: Special Pronoun Uses

This lesson introduces several special pronoun uses that expand the Tongan pronoun system.

English has the word "one" used as an indefinite pronoun: "One should not speak too quickly." Tongan has the same concept, using the first-person inclusive singular pronoun te (preposed) and kita (postposed) in a way that goes beyond their literal meaning of "I and you."
